Description
A moist buttery cake topped with caramelized plums baked upside down for a beautiful fruit dessert.
Ingredients
5 medium plums sliced
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
1. Prepare cake pan with butter and brown sugar.
2. Arrange plum slices.
3. Mix dry ingredients.
4. Cream butter and sugar.
5. Add eggs and vanilla.
6. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk.
7. Spread batter over plums.
8. Bake until golden.
9. Cool briefly and invert onto serving plate.
Notes
Use ripe but firm plums.
Allow cake to cool 10 minutes before inverting.
Serve warm or room temperature.
Store covered.
