Description

An incredibly easy and comforting 3-ingredient tropical dessert featuring juicy crushed pineapple under a golden, buttery cake mix crust.

Ingredients

Scale

40 ounces (1191 g) crushed pineapple, juices drained well

15.25 ounce (432 g) box of white cake mix

1 cup (227 g) butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a standard 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. Spread the 40 ounces of well-drained crushed pineapple evenly across the bottom of the pan.

3. Sprinkle the 15.25 ounce box of white cake mix flatly and evenly over the pineapple layer.

4. Pour the 1 cup of melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix layer, covering any powdery spots.

5. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling; cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Drain the crushed pineapple thoroughly to prevent a soggy bottom. If you see dry powdery patches before baking, gently pat the butter into the mix with a fork.
