Soft and fluffy pear cinnamon rolls filled with diced fresh pears, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger, topped with a sweet maple glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For the dough:

1 3/4 cup warm water, 110-115º F

1 tsp active dry yeast

2 tbsp cane sugar

1/2 cup butter, melted

4 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

For the filling:

1/2 cup softened butter, I used vegan

1 cup light brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 tsp cardamom

3/4 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp cloves

2 large pears, peeled

For the maple glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

3 tbsp maple syrup

12 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Whisk warm water, yeast, and cane sugar in a bowl; let sit 5 minutes until foamy.

2. Add melted butter, salt, and flour; knead into a smooth dough and let rise 1 hour.

3. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and top with brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and diced peeled pears.

4. Roll into a log, cut into 12 rolls, place in a greased dish, and let rise 30 minutes.

5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 28 minutes until golden brown.

6. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract; drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

Dice pears finely for easy rolling. Keep water between 110-115°F to proof yeast properly.
