Description
Soft and fluffy pear cinnamon rolls filled with diced fresh pears, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger, topped with a sweet maple glaze.
Ingredients
For the dough:
1 3/4 cup warm water, 110-115º F
1 tsp active dry yeast
2 tbsp cane sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
For the filling:
1/2 cup softened butter, I used vegan
1 cup light brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp cardamom
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
2 large pears, peeled
For the maple glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbsp maple syrup
1–2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Whisk warm water, yeast, and cane sugar in a bowl; let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Add melted butter, salt, and flour; knead into a smooth dough and let rise 1 hour.
3. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and top with brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and diced peeled pears.
4. Roll into a log, cut into 12 rolls, place in a greased dish, and let rise 30 minutes.
5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 28 minutes until golden brown.
6. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract; drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
Dice pears finely for easy rolling. Keep water between 110-115°F to proof yeast properly.
