Description
Easy 10-minute no-bake energy bars made with mission figs, walnuts, almonds, cocoa powder, and maple syrup for a chewy, fudgy healthy snack.
Ingredients
2 cups mission figs
1 cup walnuts
2/3 cup almonds
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
pinch of salt
3 tbsp maple syrup, plus more if needed
Instructions
1. Pulse walnuts and almonds in a food processor until finely chopped into coarse crumbs.
2. Add trimmed mission figs, cocoa powder, salt, and maple syrup to the food processor bowl.
3. Process on high for 1 to 2 minutes until a thick, sticky dough forms that holds together when pinched.
4. Add a tiny bit more maple syrup if the dough feels too dry to bind.
5. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into a parchment-lined 8-inch square pan.
6. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, lift out using the parchment, and slice into bars.
Notes
Snip off the hard woody stems from the figs before blending. Press the mixture as firmly as possible into the pan so the bars hold together cleanly when cut.
