Description

Chewy maple pecan blondies loaded with dark brown sugar, pure maple syrup, and toasted chopped pecans.


Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

2/3 cup unsalted butter

1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped, divided


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Whisk 2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/4 tsp baking soda in a bowl.

3. Melt 2/3 cup unsalted butter, then whisk in 1 1/4 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup pure maple syrup.

4. Beat in 2 large eggs one at a time, then add 2 tsp vanilla extract until smooth.

5. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture, then stir in 1 cup toasted chopped pecans.

6. Spread batter into pan, top with remaining 1/2 cup pecans, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Notes

Use 100% pure maple syrup. Toast pecans prior to mixing for maximum flavor.
