Description

Thick homemade cherry jam made with fresh cherries, sugar, and lemon juice for a naturally sweet spread.


Ingredients

2 pounds cherries pitted

3/4 to 1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Pit and chop cherries.

2. Cook cherries with sugar and lemon juice.

3. Simmer until juices release.

4. Mash for desired texture.

5. Cook until thickened.

6. Test for doneness on cold plate.

7. Stir in vanilla.

8. Cool and store in jars.
