Ingredients
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup warm milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter
Oil for frying
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Activate yeast.
2. Mix dough ingredients.
3. Knead until smooth.
4. Allow dough to rise.
5. Roll and cut donuts.
6. Rise again.
7. Fry until golden.
8. Prepare glaze.
9. Dip warm donuts into glaze.
10. Allow glaze to set.
Notes
Use a thermometer for frying.
Do not overcrowd oil.
Serve fresh for best texture.
Freeze unglazed donuts if needed.
