Description
Rustic summer fruit crostata made with buttery pastry dough and juicy seasonal fruit filling.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter
3–5 tablespoons ice water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups mixed fruit
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1 tablespoon coarse sugar
Instructions
1. Mix dry ingredients.
2. Cut in butter.
3. Add water and form dough.
4. Chill dough.
5. Prepare fruit filling.
6. Roll dough.
7. Add fruit to center.
8. Fold edges.
9. Brush with egg wash.
10. Bake until golden.
11. Cool and serve.
Notes
Use seasonal fruit for best flavor.
Do not overfill.
Chill dough before baking.
Serve warm or room temperature.
