Description

A refreshing and easy frozen treat featuring ripe banana slices layered with creamy peanut butter, dipped in semisweet chocolate, and topped with toffee bits.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup peanut butter

4 bananas, sliced into 1-inch rounds

8 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate

1 tablespoon shortening

1/3 cup toffee baking bits

Instructions

1. Slice the 4 bananas into 1-inch rounds and arrange them flatly on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

2. Spoon a dollop of the 1 cup of peanut butter evenly onto the top of each banana slice.

3. Freeze the baking sheet for 1 hour until the peanut butter layer feels completely firm.

4. Melt the 8 squares of semisweet chocolate and 1 tablespoon of shortening together in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

5. Dip each frozen banana bite quickly into the melted chocolate using a fork to coat completely.

6. Place back onto the parchment paper, sprinkle immediately with the 1/3 cup of toffee baking bits, and freeze for 1 more hour.

Notes

Use firm-ripe bananas without green spots on the peel for the best natural sweetness. Keep your chocolate melting temperature low to prevent it from seizing up.
