Description

Elegant individual puff pastry tartlets layered with a sweet honey cream cheese filling and topped with fresh juicy figs.

Ingredients

Scale

1 puff pastry sheet thawed

8 ounces cream cheese softened

1½ tbsp honey plus extra for serving

¼ tsp almond or vanilla extract optional

6 ripe fresh figs cut in half

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cut the thawed puff pastry sheet into 6 equal rectangles and place them on the baking sheet.

3. Score a shallow border around the inner edge of each pastry rectangle using a sharp knife.

4. Beat the softened cream cheese, honey, and extract together in a bowl until completely smooth.

5. Spread a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture inside the borders, then top each with two fig halves.

6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the outer edges are puffed and golden brown; drizzle with extra honey before serving.

Notes

Keep the puff pastry cold before baking to ensure the flakiest layers. Let the cream cheese soften completely at room temperature so it whips without lumps.
