Description
Crispy and warm cinnamon sugar apple donuts made with sliced fresh apple rings dipped in sweet cinnamon batter and fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Battered Rings:
2 apples
1 Cup all purpose flour
¼ tsp baking Powder
1 tsp cinnamon, adjust to taste
1 Tbsp white granulated sugar
¾ cup almond milk, or any milk
½ cup canola or avocado oil, for frying
Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
½ cup white granulated sugar
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Instructions
1. Core 2 apples and slice horizontally into ½-inch thick rings.
2. Whisk 1 cup flour, ¼ tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp white sugar, and ¾ cup milk in a bowl until smooth.
3. Combine ½ cup white sugar, 1 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 tbsp cinnamon in a separate bowl for topping.
4. Heat ½ cup oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Dip apple rings in batter to coat completely, then fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
6. Drain briefly on paper towels, roll immediately in the cinnamon sugar mixture, and serve warm.
Notes
Pat apple slices dry before dipping so batter adheres properly. Toss in sugar mixture while piping hot.
