Description

Homemade cherry BBQ sauce made with real cherries, ketchup, brown sugar, and spices for a sweet smoky glaze.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cherries pitted

1 cup ketchup

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 cloves garlic

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Optional chili flakes


Instructions

1. Cook cherries until soft.

2. Mash or blend cherries.

3. Add remaining ingredients.

4. Simmer until thickened.

5. Blend if smooth sauce desired.

6. Cool before storing.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and tang to taste.

Use fresh or frozen cherries.

Store refrigerated.
