Description
Berry Galette – a rustic tart filled with juicy berries and wrapped in a flaky buttery crust.
Ingredients
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
½ cup cold butter, cubed
3–4 tbsp ice water
2 cups mixed berries
⅓ cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 tbsp coarse sugar optional
Instructions
1. Mix flour, salt, and sugar
2. Cut in butter
3. Add water and form dough
4. Chill dough
5. Roll into circle
6. Mix filling ingredients
7. Add filling to center
8. Fold edges
9. Brush with egg wash
10. Bake 35–40 minutes
11. Cool slightly and serve
Notes
Keep butter cold for flaky crust
Do not overfill
Use parchment paper for easy transfer
Serve warm for best taste
