Description

Warm and cozy apple pear crisp packed with sliced baking apples, Bartlett pears, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a buttery quick oat streusel topping.

Ingredients

Scale

7 cups baking apples peeled, cored and sliced

3 cups Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and sliced

1 ¼ cups sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

⅛ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

1 cup quick oats

1 cup flour

1 cup brown sugar

¼ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

½ cup butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, and toss sliced apples, sliced pears, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.

2. Spread the spiced fruit mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

3. Whisk quick oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda together in a separate bowl.

4. Pour melted butter into the dry oat mixture and stir with a fork until crumbly clusters form.

5. Scatter oat streusel topping evenly over the fruit layer.

6. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes until topping is golden brown and juices are bubbly; rest 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Slice fruit uniformly for even baking. Let crisp rest for 15 minutes after baking so juices thicken.
