Almond Cherry Scones – buttery, flaky scones with sweet cherries and almond flavor.
Ingredients
2 cups flour
⅓ cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup butter
½ cup cherries
¼ cup almonds
½ cup cream
1 egg
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar optional
2 tbsp milk optional
Instructions
1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet
2. Mix dry ingredients
3. Cut in butter
4. Add cherries and almonds
5. Mix wet ingredients
6. Combine gently
7. Shape dough and cut
8. Bake 15–18 minutes
9. Cool and glaze if desired
Notes
Use cold butter
Do not overmix
Chill dough if needed
Serve warm
