Description
Sourdough Discard Brownies are fudgy, moist, and chocolatey, using leftover sourdough starter. Perfect for dessert or snacks.
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sourdough discard (unfed)
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease pan.
2. Mix melted butter and sugar.
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
4. Stir in sourdough discard.
5. Whisk flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
6. Mix dry into wet ingredients.
7. Fold in chocolate chips.
8. Pour into pan and smooth top.
9. Bake 25–30 minutes. Cool and slice.
Notes
Do not overbake for fudgy texture.
Optional: add nuts or drizzle chocolate.
Sprinkle sea salt for contrast.
