Description

Buttery, crumbly, and dusted in powdered sugar, these Snowball Cookies are a classic holiday treat that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon salt

¾ cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts

Extra powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add vanilla extract, flour, and salt; mix until combined.

4. Fold in nuts gently to avoid overmixing.

5. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet.

6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until bottoms are lightly golden.

7. Cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar while warm.

8. Once cooled, roll again for a thick, snowy coating.

Notes

Store in airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze up to 3 months.

For a nut-free version, replace nuts with mini chocolate chips.
