Description
Salted Caramel Truffles are smooth caramel bites coated in chocolate with a hint of sea salt. Perfect for gifting or dessert.
Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
½ cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon sea salt, plus extra for sprinkling
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt sugar over medium heat until amber caramel forms.
2. Add butter, stirring until melted.
3. Slowly pour in heavy cream, stir, then add vanilla and salt.
4. Pour onto parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until firm.
5. Cut or scoop caramel into bite-sized pieces.
6. Melt chocolate with coconut oil.
7. Dip caramel pieces in chocolate, sprinkle with sea salt.
8. Refrigerate until chocolate sets.
Notes
Use different types of chocolate for variety.
Store in refrigerator to maintain shape.
Optional: add a pinch of espresso powder for flavor.
