Description
Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats are chewy no-bake dessert bars made with crispy rice cereal marshmallows and rich caramel with a touch of sea salt.
Ingredients
6 cups crispy rice cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Optional extra caramel drizzle
Instructions
1. Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
3. Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
4. Stir in caramel sauce and vanilla extract.
5. Remove from heat.
6. Add crispy rice cereal and mix until coated.
7. Transfer mixture to baking dish.
8. Press gently into even layer.
9. Sprinkle sea salt over top.
10. Drizzle extra caramel if desired.
11. Cool 20 to 30 minutes and slice.
Notes
Use homemade caramel for deeper flavor.
Add chocolate chips for variation.
Crushed pretzels add crunch.
Brown butter adds richness.
