Description

Ingredients

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon red food coloring

16 oz cream cheese

½ cup unsalted butter

4 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch pans.

2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa.

3. Combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, vinegar, vanilla, and food coloring.

4. Mix wet and dry ingredients until smooth.

5. Divide batter and bake 25–30 minutes.

6. Cool completely before frosting.

7. Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.

8. Assemble and frost the cake.
