Ingredients
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional) for coating
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheet with parchment.
2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add ricotta, egg, vanilla, and orange zest; mix until smooth.
4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; fold into wet ingredients.
5. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
6. Scoop dough onto baking sheet.
7. Optional: roll in powdered sugar.
8. Bake 12–15 minutes until edges lightly golden.
9. Cool 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Substitute dark chocolate for richer flavor.
Add candied orange peel for extra zest.
Slightly underbake for softer cookies.
