Description

Hearty Old-Fashioned Goulash with ground beef, pasta, and rich tomato sauce.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)

1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

2 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

1. Brown ground beef and drain fat.

2. Cook onion until translucent.

3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste.

5. Season with spices.

6. Add beef broth and bring to boil.

7. Stir in uncooked macaroni and simmer until tender.

8. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese.

9. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Add extra vegetables if desired.

Adjust seasonings to taste.

Store leftovers properly.

Freeze without cheese for best results.
