Ingredients
4 slices of bread, preferably soft white or whole wheat
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Butter for spreading (optional)
Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat milk with sugar, vanilla, and salt.
2. Toast the bread lightly.
3. Place toast in bowls and pour warm milk over them.
4. Spread butter if desired.
5. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg.
6. Serve immediately.
Notes

Use dairy-free milk for a vegan version.
