Description

Bright and sweet homemade mandarin jam with vibrant citrus flavor, perfect for toast, yogurt, or desserts.


Ingredients

Scale

2 pounds fresh mandarins, peeled and segmented

2 cups granulated sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 cup water

1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)


Instructions

1. Peel mandarins and remove seeds

2. Chop segments if desired

3. Place mandarins and water in saucepan and simmer

4. Cook 10 minutes until fruit softens

5. Add sugar and lemon juice and stir until dissolved

6. Simmer mixture about 25–30 minutes until thick

7. Test jam on chilled plate for thickness

8. Stir in orange zest if using

9. Pour hot jam into sterilized jars

10. Seal jars and cool completely

Notes

Use ripe mandarins for best flavor

Blend fruit briefly for smoother jam

Add ginger for a light spice note
