Description

Kolacky Cookies are soft, buttery, and filled with fruit jam. Perfect for holidays, gifts, or a classic homemade treat.


Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Filling:

1/2 cup fruit jam (apricot, raspberry, or favorite)

Topping:

Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

3. Cream butter and sugar until light; add egg and vanilla.

4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until soft dough forms.

5. Roll into 1-inch balls; press indentation in center.

6. Fill indentation with 1/2 tsp jam.

7. Bake 12-15 minutes until edges lightly golden; cool on wire rack.

8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use different jams for variety.

Add nuts to dough for texture.

Use Nutella or chocolate filling for a twist.

Chill dough 30 minutes for easier handling.

Store in airtight container or freeze.
