Description

This Honey and Spice Loaf is moist, tender, and bursting with warming spices and natural honey. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack anytime.


Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup plain yogurt or buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, honey, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by yogurt and vanilla extract.

5. Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined.

6. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Drizzle extra honey over the cooled loaf for added sweetness.

Add chopped nuts or dried fruits for texture.

Use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar for deeper flavor.

Replace yogurt with plant-based yogurt for a dairy-free version.

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking for a golden crust.
