Description

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup water

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon orange extract

Orange food coloring, optional

Powdered sugar or cornstarch, for dusting


Instructions

1. Line pan with parchment and grease lightly.

2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt in saucepan.

3. Stir until sugar dissolves, then boil.

4. Cook to 250°F (hard-ball stage).

5. Remove from heat and stir in butter, orange extract, and food coloring.

6. Pour into prepared pan and cool 1 hour.

7. Dust cutting board with powdered sugar and invert candy.

8. Cut into squares and store in airtight container.

Notes
