Description

A hearty and healthy one-pan Ground Turkey and Sweet Potato Skillet made with lean protein, tender sweet potatoes, and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground turkey

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, diced

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add diced sweet potatoes and cook 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Push potatoes to the side and add ground turkey. Cook until browned.

4. Stir in onion, garlic, and red bell pepper. Cook until softened.

5. Season with paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

6. Add chicken broth or water if needed to prevent sticking.

7. Simmer for 5 minutes so flavors combine.

8. Garnish with parsley or cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a Tex-Mex twist, add black beans and corn.

Top with a fried egg for a breakfast version.

Swap turkey for ground chicken or beef if desired.
