Description

A simple, elegant side dish made with fresh green beans, butter, garlic, lemon, and toasted almonds. Perfect for everyday dinners or holiday feasts.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/3 cup sliced almonds

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch green beans for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender. Immediately place in ice water.

2. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Toast almonds for 2–3 minutes until golden, then remove and set aside.

3. Add remaining butter and olive oil to the skillet. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add drained green beans, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Toss well to combine.

5. Return toasted almonds to the skillet, mix gently, and serve warm.

Notes

Blanch beans ahead of time for easy prep. Add shallots or red pepper flakes for extra flavor. Not recommended for freezing as beans may lose texture.
