Ingredients
Gingerbread Cookies:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating & Topping:
1/3 cup granulated sugar
24 chocolate kisses
Instructions
1. Preheat oven and line baking sheets.
2. Mix dry ingredients.
3. Cream butter and sugar.
4. Add egg, molasses, and vanilla.
5. Combine with dry ingredients.
6. Roll dough into balls.
7. Coat in sugar.
8. Bake until set.
9. Press chocolate kisses into cookies.
10. Cool completely.
Notes
Do not overbake.
Add kisses immediately after baking.
Chill dough briefly if sticky.
Store airtight.
