Description
Fluffy, golden biscuits brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with fresh herbs, perfect as a savory side or snack.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
3/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
3. Add cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or fingers to cut the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Pour in milk and gently stir until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut into squares or rounds.
6. Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
7. Brush melted butter over hot biscuits and sprinkle with fresh parsley and optional thyme. Serve warm.
Notes
Add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar for cheesy biscuits.
Substitute herbs: rosemary, chives, or basil.
Use buttermilk instead of milk for tangy flavor.
Make dough ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
Freeze unbaked biscuits for up to 2 months.
