Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches are juicy, slow-cooked beef sandwiches served with a flavorful au jus. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners or game day meals.
Ingredients
3 lbs beef chuck roast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
4–6 sandwich rolls, crusty
6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
Optional: caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms
Instructions
1. Rub beef roast with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
2. Place the roast in the crockpot.
3. Mix beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, then pour over the roast.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 4–5 hours until beef is tender.
5. Remove beef from crockpot and shred with two forks.
6. Strain the cooking liquid to create au jus and keep warm.
7. Assemble sandwiches with shredded beef, cheese, and optional caramelized onions or mushrooms.
8. Serve with au jus for dipping.
Notes
Sear the roast before placing in the crockpot for extra flavor. Toast sandwich rolls for a crisp texture. Add sautéed mushrooms or onions for extra taste.
