Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons unsalted butter cold and cubed
1 cup cold buttermilk
2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F and grease a baking sheet
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
3. Cut cold butter into flour mixture until coarse crumbs
4. Add buttermilk and stir until just combined
5. Fold in cheese or chives if using
6. Drop dough onto prepared baking sheet
7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden
8. Let biscuits cool slightly before serving
