Description

Crockpot Baked Ziti with tender pasta, rich marinara, and melted cheese for easy comfort food.


Ingredients

1 pound ziti pasta

3 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup water or vegetable broth

Optional: 1 cup chopped spinach or mushrooms


Instructions

1. Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Combine pasta, sauce, ricotta, onion, garlic, seasonings, and water/broth.

3. Cover and cook on low 3-4 hours until pasta is tender.

4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over top and cook 10-15 minutes until melted.

5. Optional: stir in vegetables before serving.

6. Serve hot with extra Parmesan and basil.

Notes

Use gluten-free pasta if needed.

Add cooked ground beef or sausage for meaty version.

Use part-skim mozzarella for lighter option.

Stir halfway through for even cooking.

Top with breadcrumbs if desired.
