Ingredients
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 medium carrots, diced
3 celery stalks, diced
1 cup (150g) frozen corn
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 cups (960ml) beef broth
2 cups (480ml) milk
1 ½ cups (170g) shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional toppings: extra cheese, chopped pickles, crumbled bacon, chopped parsley
Instructions
1. In a large pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
3. Stir in diced carrots, celery, and corn; cook 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.
4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well to coat vegetables and beef.
5. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
6. Pour in milk and add Worcestershire sauce; stir to combine.
7. Bring the soup to a gentle simmer and cook 10–15 minutes until vegetables are tender and soup thickens.
8. Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
10. Serve hot with optional toppings like extra cheese, pickles, or bacon.
