Description
Flaky puff pastry croissants filled with rich cookie dough, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.
Ingredients
1 package puff pastry
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix.
3. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture to form cookie dough. Fold in chocolate chips.
4. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into rectangles approximately 3×4 inches.
5. Place a tablespoon of cookie dough in the center of each rectangle. Fold and seal edges to form a croissant shape.
6. Brush each croissant with beaten egg for a golden finish.
7. Bake 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
8. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use white chocolate, caramel, or peanut butter chips for variations.
Freeze unbaked croissants for later baking.
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate glaze for extra sweetness.
Serve warm for best flavor.
