Description
Classic Spaghetti Bolognese features a rich beef and tomato sauce simmered to perfection and served over spaghetti.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
1 medium carrot, finely diced
1 celery stalk, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
12 ounces spaghetti
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan
2. Cook onion, carrot, and celery until soft
3. Add garlic and cook briefly
4. Brown the ground beef
5. Season with herbs and spices
6. Stir in tomato paste
7. Add tomatoes and beef broth
8. Simmer until thickened
9. Cook spaghetti according to package
10. Serve sauce over pasta
