Description

Classic Reuben Sandwich with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

8 slices rye bread

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

8 oz sliced corned beef

1 cup sauerkraut, drained

8 slices Swiss cheese

1/4 cup Russian dressing


Instructions

1. Preheat skillet over medium heat.

2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

3. Spread Russian dressing on unbuttered side of 4 slices.

4. Layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on dressing side.

5. Top with remaining bread, buttered side out.

6. Grill 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.

7. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh rye or marble rye for best flavor.

Substitute Thousand Island dressing if desired.

Add pickles or caramelized onions for extra zing.

Use panini press for even grilling.

Keep sauce separate if making ahead.
