Description

Classic Cannoli Squares are creamy, crispy, and easy to make. Perfect for parties, holidays, or an indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry Layer:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 large egg

2 tablespoons milk

Cannoli Filling:

2 cups ricotta cheese, drained

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Topping:

Powdered sugar for dusting

Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt; cut in butter. Add egg and milk; mix to a smooth dough.

3. Press dough into prepared pan and bake 18-20 minutes. Cool completely.

4. Mix ricotta, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon; fold in chocolate chips.

5. Spread filling over cooled crust and smooth top.

6. Refrigerate 2 hours until set; dust with powdered sugar and slice.

Notes

Use mascarpone instead of ricotta for richer flavor.

Add crushed pistachios on top for crunch.

Drizzle melted chocolate over squares.

Use part-skim ricotta for lighter version.

Prepare a day ahead for convenience.
