Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
24 oz marinara sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
1 large egg
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons parsley
9 lasagna noodles, cooked
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
2. Make meat sauce by sautéing onion and garlic, then browning beef.
3. Add seasoning, tomato paste, and marinara sauce; simmer 15 minutes.
4. Mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper.
5. Assemble layers of sauce, noodles, cheese, and repeat.
6. Top with mozzarella and bake covered 25 minutes, then uncovered 15 minutes.
7. Rest 10 minutes before serving and garnish with basil.
Notes
Use oven-ready noodles for convenience.
Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
