Description

There’s nothing quite like the comforting aroma of fresh-baked Cinnamon Sugar Sweet Focaccia filling your kitchen. Soft, fluffy, and lightly sweetened, it’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for extra flavor and enjoy with coffee, tea, or your favorite spread.

Ingredients

Scale

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

¾ cup warm milk

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

½ cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually mix the flour into the yeast mixture.

3. Add melted butter and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5–7 minutes.

4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

5. Punch down the dough, transfer to a greased baking sheet, and gently press into a rectangle ½ inch thick.

6. Mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.

7. Sprinkle over dough and drizzle olive oil on top.

8. Cover dough loosely and let it rise another 20–30 minutes.

9.Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

10. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

11. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add nuts or raisins. For a gluten-free version, use 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. For savory, skip sugar topping and add rosemary. Brush top with extra olive oil for a crispier crust.
