Description

Warm and cozy Cinnamon Baked Apples filled with brown sugar, spices, and a hint of butter for a perfect fall dessert.


Ingredients

4 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

1/2 cup water or apple juice (for baking dish)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Core each apple, leaving the bottom intact.

3. Mix butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.

4. Stuff apples with the mixture, adding nuts or dried fruit if desired.

5. Place apples in baking dish, pour water or apple juice into dish.

6. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.

7. Remove foil and bake 10-15 more minutes until tender and caramelized.

8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use firmer apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results.

Drizzle with maple syrup, honey, or serve with ice cream.

Add oats to the filling for extra texture.
