Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout.
7. Scoop 1½ tablespoons of dough per cookie and place on prepared baking sheets.
8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
9. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewy cookies, add 1 tablespoon cornstarch to the flour mixture.
Chill dough for thicker cookies.
Sprinkle with sea salt after baking for a gourmet touch.
