Description
Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks are soft, buttery, and full of garlicky, cheesy goodness. Perfect as a side, appetizer, or snack, they’re easy to make and loved by all ages.
Ingredients
1½ cups warm water (110°F / 45°C)
2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
3½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. Stir in olive oil, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
4. Punch down dough and divide into 12-16 portions. Roll each into a stick and place on greased baking sheet.
5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Let breadsticks rest 10 minutes.
6. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush over breadsticks. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
7. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Optionally sprinkle with parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
Add mozzarella or Asiago for extra cheesy breadsticks.
Mix in herbs like rosemary or oregano for flavor variation.
Shape and refrigerate dough ahead of time; bake fresh.
Freeze unbaked breadsticks for later use.
Brush with extra garlic butter after reheating to refresh flavor.
