Description

Creamy cheddar broccoli casserole with golden cheese topping. Easy, comforting, and perfect as a side dish for any meal.


Ingredients

4 cups broccoli florets, steamed

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers for topping

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 9×13-inch dish

2. Steam broccoli until tender, drain

3. Melt butter in medium saucepan

4. Stir in flour and cook 1–2 minutes

5. Whisk in milk gradually until thickened

6. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and 1 cup cheddar, stir until smooth

7. Place broccoli in dish, pour cheese sauce over, mix gently

8. Sprinkle remaining cheese, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan on top

9. Bake 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden

10. Let cool slightly before serving

Notes

Use fresh or frozen broccoli, thaw if frozen

Substitute cheeses as desired

Add onions or mushrooms for extra flavor

Use panko or crushed crackers for crispier topping
