Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 cup milk
1 large egg
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, and black pepper
3. Add cold cubed butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese
5. Whisk milk and egg together, then fold into dry ingredients until just combined
6. Pat dough into 1-inch thick rectangle and cut into rounds
7. Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown
9. Let cool slightly before serving
