Description

Caramelized Onion Quiche is a savory brunch recipe featuring sweet caramelized onions, creamy eggs, and flaky pie crust.


Ingredients

1 pie crust

2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

2 large onions thinly sliced

4 large eggs

1 cup milk or half-and-half

1 cup shredded cheese Swiss Gruyere or cheddar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon thyme optional


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Place pie crust in 9-inch pie dish.

3. Cook sliced onions in olive oil or butter over medium heat 15–20 minutes until caramelized.

4. Let onions cool slightly.

5. Whisk eggs milk salt pepper and thyme.

6. Spread onions evenly over crust.

7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

8. Pour egg mixture evenly into crust.

9. Bake 35–40 minutes until center is set.

10. Rest 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor.

Use Gruyere cheese for classic flavor.

Substitute milk for half-and-half for lighter version.

Blind bake crust for crisp texture.
