Description
Homemade Caramel Apples are a classic fall treat made with crisp apples coated in buttery, golden caramel. Perfect for Halloween parties or autumn gatherings.
Ingredients
6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1 (14 oz) bag caramel candies
2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Wooden sticks for apples
Toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or melted chocolate (optional)
Instructions
1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly to remove any wax coating.
2. Insert wooden sticks into the center of each apple.
3. In a saucepan, melt the caramel candies with milk over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth.
4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
5. Dip each apple into the caramel, turning to coat evenly. Let excess drip off.
6. Place coated apples on parchment paper and add toppings if desired.
7. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to allow caramel to set before serving.
Notes
For easier cleanup, use parchment or wax paper.
Ensure apples are fully dry or the caramel won’t stick well.
For a thicker caramel layer, chill dipped apples briefly and repeat the dipping process.
