Description

Biscuits and Gravy Casserole is a comforting breakfast with fluffy biscuits smothered in creamy beef sausage gravy. Perfect for family mornings, brunch, or holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage (pork-free alternative if preferred)

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1 tube (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits, cut into quarters

Optional: shredded cheddar cheese for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned; remove and set aside.

3. Melt butter in skillet; whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes.

4. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened.

5. Season gravy with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

6. Stir cooked sausage into gravy; pour half into baking dish.

7. Layer biscuit pieces over gravy; pour remaining gravy on top.

8. Sprinkle cheese if using.

9. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly; cool 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add sautéed mushrooms or onions for extra flavor. Use plant-based sausage for a vegetarian version. Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate before baking.
