Description

Flaky Basil Pesto Cheesy Puffs with golden pastry, melted cheese, and aromatic pesto.


Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1/4 cup basil pesto

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

1 tablespoon water

Fresh basil (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet.

2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.

3. Spread basil pesto evenly over pastry.

4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

5. Fold pastry in half and press gently.

6. Cut into squares or strips.

7. Place on baking sheet.

8. Whisk egg with water and brush pastries.

9. Bake 14–18 minutes until golden and puffed.

10. Cool slightly and garnish with basil.

11. Serve warm.

Notes

Swap mozzarella for cheddar or provolone.

Use sun-dried tomato pesto for variation.

Freeze before baking for easy prep.
